What does it mean to Be A Queen?

A QUEEN DOES NOT DEMAND HER OWN WAY – She is acutely aware that she is not the only one with needs to consider.  She looks to the interests and concerns of others first.  She finds ways to serve others and genuinely enjoys being a blessing to those around her without expecting to be noticed.  She is an asset at church, school, and home.

A QUEEN IS PATIENT AND KIND – She asks God for wisdom.  She listens and observes in each life situation, and thinks of the best way to interact.  She waits for the inspiration to speak and offers what is patient, kind and helpful to the listener.  She tries to make others comfortable in social situations.  She steps up to do what is right and cleans up after her behavior when she is in the wrong.  She looks for ways to grow up and looks for ways to encourage growth observed in others.

A QUEEN REJOICES WHENEVER GOD’S TRUTH WINS OUT – She develops and maintains daily habits for being in the Word.  She loves God’s ways and meditates on His truths.  She seeks God in her prayers about everything she does.  She remains in Him and accepts His guidance in her life.  She rejoices in what is good and godly.  She gives God the glory.  She is a woman after God’s own heart.

A QUEEN ADEPTLY DEVELOPS AND MAINTAINS CASTLE BORDERS – She relates to others as though her borders are a naturally and clearly communicated extension of herself.  Her “yes” and “no” reliably mean what they say.  Others know that she is dependable, trustworthy, and approachable.  At the same time, it is clear, that she is no push–over.  She is at peace with her commitments.  The tasks she chooses to do, she does extremely well.

A QUEEN EXQUISITELY RELATES TO HER FAMILY – She enjoys the benefits of family like participating in family nights, eating together, holidays, celebrations, support, safety and love, AND she faithfully steps up to do her part to contribute to her family by cheerfully helping with siblings and tasks, making a point to show interest in other family members, and making efforts to demonstrate support, comfort and love in her family.  She expresses her love to her family.  She is not irritable, and she keeps no record of when she has been wronged.

A QUEEN IS NOT JEALOUS, BOASTFUL OR PROUD WITH FRIENDS – She is gracious in her friendships.  She invests in her friends’ lives instead of bankrupting them.  Her friendships are based on freedom, not obligation.  She is comfortable being in “the group” and makes a point to welcome new members.  She is a peacemaker between others.  She lifts others up and accepts support from them in turn.  She is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude.

A QUEEN NEVER LOSES FAITH, IS HOPEFUL, AND ENDURES – She knows she is a reflection of Christ; either good or bad.  She sees every day and every year of her life as a gift and her future is in heaven.  She never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.  Her love for God and others will last forever.

Beauty Expert Tips

Michael Kors' advice for accessories:

Michael Kors, the famous clothing designer said that he loves to design clothing for women of all sizes; they are all beautiful, but it is the woman with a high self–esteem that wears the “best accessory.”  She is the one who shines in clothing; the one people notice.

Famous actress/model Audrey Hepburn was asked for her beauty tips and she quoted this poem written by Sam Levenson.  He wrote the poem, “Time Tested Beauty Tips” for his grandchild, and this became one of Audrey Hepburn’s favorite poems.

“Time Tested Beauty Tips"

  • For attractive lips, speak words of kindness.
  • For lovely eyes, seek out the good in people.
  • For a slim figure, share your food with the hungry.
  • For beautiful hair, let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day.
  • For poise, walk with the knowledge that you'll never walk alone.
  • People, even more than things, have to be restored, renewed, revived, reclaimed, and redeemed.  Never throw out anybody.
  • Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you'll find one at the end of your arm.  As you grow older, you discover that you have two hands – one for helping yourself, the other for helping others.
  • The beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.  The beauty of a woman is seen in her eyes, because that is the doorway to her heart, the place where love resides.
  • True beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.  It is the caring that she lovingly gives, the passion that she shows.  The beauty of a woman only grows with passing years.
